About Us

U-Speak Translation Bureau knows and speaks the Universal Speak.

The bureau embraces and surrenders to all words, regardless of language, religion or race.

The bureau believes that translation is an art. Its approach to translation texts is similar to that of an artist who feels immense responsibility and cares with great sensitivity for his work.

The bureau is independent, standing upright and proudly on its own two feet. It speacializes in academic and literary translations, as well as advertising scripts, web sites, film subtitles. It is an enterprise founded and managed by Aslı Mertan.

To translate, one must have a style of his own, for otherwise the translation will have no rhythm or nuance, which come from the process of artistically thinking through and moulding the sentences; they cannot be reconstituted by piecemeal imitation. The problem of translation is to retreat to a simpler tenor of one's own style and creatively adjust this to one's author.
